NEW EPISODE DROPS EVERY THURSDAY

Junk Journaling

Junk journaling has given me a place to recycle and reinvent so many of the things I hold onto, old photos, ticket stubs, business cards, postcards, brochures, small-town gazettes, you name it. I do hold onto stuff. And now, I finally have a place for it. I knew I was hoarding for a reason.

I find it so relaxing, mindful, and surprisingly creative. If you’re like me and need somewhere to put all those little memories, get into junk journaling. Here’s an article that shares more about it and its benefits.

Abil Acres in Sawyer, MI

Earlier this month, my friends and I had the most wonderful stay at the newly renovated Abil Acres in Sawyer, Michigan. If you’re looking for an Airbnb in Southwest Michigan, I highly recommend this property.

It’s right off Red Arrow Road and surrounded by incredible spots for coffee, cocktails, food, shopping, and dune hikes. It sleeps up to twelve, has a gorgeous porch for gathering, a fire pit, and truly cozy, chill-out-and-stay-awhile vibes.

My favorite part was watching the deer graze in the backyard while sipping a coffee… or a spritz, depending on the hour. You can learn more about Abil Acres here. I hope you get to enjoy it as much as we did.

Lilacs

Or honestly, any flowers you pass on your walks. Stop and admire them, they’re so worth it.

Right now in Chicago, lilacs are having their moment and wow, they smell incredible. I’ll stop and gently pull down a branch just to take a giant whiff. Luna is obsessed with stopping to smell the flowers too, she loves nature. She’s currently claiming she has “Spring Fever,” which is honestly adorable.

I love noticing the seasonal shifts, but she reminds me to slow down and really take them in.

PS: If you love the scent of lilacs, you’ll love our Fresh candle.

Neighbors (HBO)

Okay wow, I didn’t know I needed this show in my life. It’s basically neighbors bickering, and honestly, they are all completely unhinged and guilty as charged.

Whether it’s fighting over a patch of grass, Halloween decorations, or being too scantily clad in their own backyard, it’s wildly entertaining. It’s mindless, it’s hilarious, and a solid reminder of just how nutty people can be.

Also makes me very grateful for my own neighbors.

La Michoacana

If you’re craving authentic Mexican popsicles, look no further. La Michoacana in Pilsen is the spot.

I took Luna for a cold treat after a warm spring day outside, and it did not disappoint. I got the mango con chili (Tajín), and Luna chose a giant pink-and-blue ice cream popsicle. Absolute perfection.

Natrium Phyto-Glow Lip Balm

I will never gatekeep a good lip gloss, so here you go. This one has a thicker consistency, the perfect shine, just enough shimmer, and it’s fragrance-free.

It’s officially earned a permanent spot in my lip gloss rotation, right alongside my other ride-or-die: NYX Butter Gloss in Fortune Cookie.

Shop the Natrium Phyto-Glow Lip Balm here.

Stay cozy,

Lauren
