It’s been said that I have a knack for inspiring folks to fall in love with fall. That perspective thrills me because I’ve looked forward to this season every year for as long as I can remember. What started as the excitement of a new notebook and pencil case at the onset of school has evolved into a full-blown love affair with a season that brings me pure euphoria. I truly live for fall.
To me, fall is the epitome of hygge—every aspect of it enhances the cozy experience. This is the season that delights all the senses. And if you consider yourself a fall resister, stick with me.
I want to inspire you to fall in love with fall.
You’re welcome to peek through my burnt-orange-colored lenses. There’s something about that dramatic autumn sky, painted in deep greys and blues, that sends me running inside to light my “Fall AF” candle and curl up with a good book. I have yet to meet a mum color I didn’t adore. Mother Nature puts on her best show in fall, and I can’t help but feel grateful. How lucky are we to witness such beauty?
And then, of course, there are the scents. Yes, pumpkin spice and cinnamon make my heart skip a beat, but it’s the slow cooking that really wins me over. Since food is my love language, fall feels downright romantic. There’s such comfort in a simmering pot of soup or stew, filled with the root vegetables we’ve waited all summer for. The aromas of fall cooking are what transform a house into a home. Honey, fall is here, and I am going home.
When September arrives, I feel the pull to turn inward—to nest, prepare for shorter days, and embrace cooler nights. My home becomes a sanctuary filled with the smells, colors, and textures of the season. As the air cools, windows open wider, and sleep feels deeper under the weight of a comforter.
I find so much solace in the gentle slowness fall brings. It’s a reminder to ebb and flow with the natural rhythm of change. The seasons will always shift, and my hope for you is to find peace and pure contentment in this one.
Savor it. Fall is a portal to coziness, mindfulness, and well-being.
Stay cozy,
Michelle
