Fall, Bottled Up: The Sister Project’s Seasonal Candle Story

For the past couple of weeks, I’ve been burning this beauty in our home, and let’s just say—it’s safe to say—I am so ready for fall. Normally, I have a strict rule when it comes to seasonal candles: no autumn scents until September 1. Summer deserves its time to shine with long days by the pool and plenty of sunshine. But since I needed to test our candle (quality control is serious business!), I’ve been indulging in fall vibes earlier than usual. And honestly? I am loving every second of it.

When Michelle and I set out to create our very first fall candle, we knew it had to be extra special. You see, we both have pretty sophisticated noses when it comes to autumn scents. Growing up, our home always smelled like fall—sometimes even year-round—and for that, I am forever grateful.

Every year I look forward to gray skies, crisp air, open windows at night, soups simmering on the stove, sweater weather, cozy vibes… and of course, the perfect fall candle. I can’t tell you how many hours I’ve spent hunting down warm scents layered with spice, hints of apple, and just the right balance of comfort and nostalgia. Believe it or not, there is a perfect fall scent. (Spoiler alert: we nailed it with Fall AF.)

Our goal was simple: one sniff and you’re instantly transported into the magical mindset of autumn. In fact, our exact words to our candle maker were: “We want this candle to punch people in the face with the scents of fall.” Mission accomplished.
