Profit First by Mike Michalowicz - If you run a business—big or small—this book is a game-changer. Instead of waiting to see what’s left at the end of the month, Michalowicz flips the script: take your profit first and make everything else work around it. It’s simple, smart, and helps you build a business that actually pays you back—without all the financial chaos.
Chobani Pumpkin Creamer - For eleven months out of the year, I drink my coffee black or sip an espresso. But October? That’s when I drink my coffee the way my mom and I used to—sweet, creamy, and full of pumpkin spice. It’s one of those small, seasonal rituals that connects me to her. Just me, my mug, and a little taste of nostalgia for the lady I loved sharing coffee with the most. God, I miss her.
Zero 6 Ruby Pickleball Paddle - A couple of weeks ago, I stepped out of my comfort zone and onto the court with the “advanced” players. To be clear—I got worked. But the guy who kicked my ass must’ve seen something in me, because he handed me a few tips and this paddle to try. I asked if he thought it would make me better. We laughed. He said, “It’ll help. But mostly, slow down.” Oh, the irony. Anyway—my review? Let’s just say it’s officially on my Christmas list.
The First Wives Club - I put this on to honor the late, great Diane Keaton—one of my all-time favorites. After the death of a college friend, three middle-aged women reunite and realize they’ve all been dumped by their husbands for younger women. So they form The First Wives Club—a hilarious, empowering pact to take back their confidence, their joy, and yes, a little revenge. It’s sharp, funny, and feel-good in all the right ways—a love letter to friendship and rediscovering your worth after heartbreak.
Wayward (Netflix) - This popped up in my Netflix feed and, well, I pressed play. It’s weird as hell—think Girl, Interrupted meets Yellowjackets. The story follows a small-town cop who starts digging into a shady “troubled teens” academy, while two girls trapped inside try to expose what’s really going on. It’s culty, freaky, and the acting isn’t great—but I can’t stop watching. So there’s that.
Grandpa’s Still Watching by Dan Loftus - My friend Dan Loftus wrote this beautiful children’s book after losing his father just months after getting married. He never got the chance to introduce his dad to his kids, and as they grew older and started asking about Grandpa, this story was born. It’s both a tribute and a gentle reminder that even those who’ve passed still find ways to show up in our lives.
The Naked Mind by Annie Grace - As I continue to navigate life alcohol-free, this book came highly recommended by a sober-curious friend. Grace unpacks why we drink and how to break free—not through willpower or judgment, but through awareness. It’s science, story, and self-reflection all rolled into one, helping you rewire your thinking and live with more clarity, freedom, and peace of mind. My sober journey is a hot topic, so this is just a continuation and I enjoy learning and sharing what I learn with you.
Hair Roller Set - Mia is on a mission to recreate her HOCO hair—shoutout to our amazing stylist, Dana Owens. Every time she uses these rollers, she looks more and more like she just walked out of a salon. Teenage determination meets big hair energy.
Stay cozy,
Michelle
