Beats by Kim. Anthony gifted me these for Mother’s Day and I have to say, I love them! The sound quality is incredible and love the noise cancelling option. Plus, the battery life lasts forever. I love listening to classical music while I work and practice yoga - these are an auditory gift that keep on giving. If you’re in need of a new pair of headphones, I would recommend these.
Acrylic Markers. Luna and I have gotten into painting rocks, until I found these super cool acrylic markers. Now, we’re into drawing on rocks. These markers are less mess, super vibrant, and have two different tips to create with. They are fantastic!
My martini glasses. Here is my go-to martini Friday glass. I looked high and low for a vintage style vessel to host my weekly dirty martini and let’s just say this is my Friday night ride or die. All it’s missing is the vodka, olive brine, and bleu cheese olive. Shaken, not stirred.
The Wedding People. I chose this book up on a whim to listen to, and I am HOOKED. Oh my goodness, the characters are so intriguing, the story line perfection. Here’s the scoop: The Wedding People" is a novel about Phoebe Stone, a woman at a personal crisis point, who finds herself unexpectedly drawn into a lavish wedding weekend in Newport, Rhode Island. Mistaken for a guest at the Cornwall Inn, she's actually the only one there not attending the wedding, having arrived with no luggage and a plan to end her life. Phoebe's journey explores the idea of finding new purpose and connections through unexpected encounters and the potential for growth even in the face of profound loss, as she forms an unlikely bond with the bride and her friends.
Scentsual Incense. One of my favorite morning rituals is to light an incense stick as I start the day and while my little family still sleeps. For many moons, I was enjoying my go-to, Nag Champa (which I will always love), but recently stumbled upon this stunning incense by Scentsual. Particularly, the scent, Brilliant Blue Lavender, has my heart and nostrils. I love it.
Smoke Gets In Your Eyes. When I tell you I have been in a bad book phase - I have quite four books in the past two months. That’s how bad. But not no mo’ honey. This book by Caitlin Doughty has captivated me because like Caitlin, I am deeply intirgued by the more macabre side of life. Here’s the rundown on the book that finally got me out of my rut: Most people want to avoid thinking about death, but Caitlin Doughty—a twenty-something with a degree in medieval history and a flair for the macabre—took a job at a crematory, turning morbid curiosity into her life’s work. Thrown into a profession of gallows humor and vivid characters (both living and very dead), Caitlin learned to navigate the secretive culture of those who care for the deceased.
NUXE body, hair, and face oil. This here is a luxurious, European skincare potion in a beautiful bottle. I found this in San Felice, Italy last summer and it will forever be my body oil. The scent is giving subtle but dreamy rich Euro summer beachy vibes. Take from that what you will and gift yourself a bottle for the summer months. It is the perfect scent that’s also moisturizing.
Wyld Pomegranate Gummies. I gave up evening glasses of wine many moons ago. However, I still love to get in couch potato mode while enjoying a mild edible. This 1:1 (CBD/THC) by WYLD is my gummy of the moment. I take half and chill. It’s beautiful, just the right amount (again, I take half) , and quite delicious. Honorable mention: the packaging. How gorgeous is she? Check your local dispensary, or head to our personal favorite, Curaleaf. They are sure to have these there.
American Manhunt: Osama Bin Laden. (Netflix) Gosh, 9/11, I mean who doesn’t remember the exact moment they were in when it all started happening? But what about when they captured and killed Osama Bin Laden? Anthony had just completed the Big Sur marathon he ran in memory of his dear friend, Steve, who had passed away a year prior. So much led up to Laden’s demise - it’s incredible and courageous tale of the women and men who launched one of the biggest man hunts ever. I also experienced deep sadness for all the innocent people who were killed, both here on our soil and in far away, foreign lands. War and terrorism, two of the most horrific aspects of the human experience. A heavy watch, but worth it.
stay cozy,
