Santa Cruz Paleo Electrolyte Powder (Amazon) - Recently, while getting jacked with Megan Jackson, I was feeling super low energy and a little meh. She clocked it immediately and said I was probably dehydrated, ran inside, and came back out with this. I loved it. Ordered the mango flavor the second I got home, hoping my kids would be into it too, because right now they drink Propel, which is absolute crap. The peach lemonade is also delicious.
The Last Kingdom by Bernard Cornwell (Amazon) - Ryan and I took a recent walk to the local library, and I came home with this. It’s the first in a series about the making of England and how the Vikings were defeated by King Alfred. If you’re into history, or topics that most 13-year-old boys would devour, get on it.
Nuuly - This past week, no less than five people asked me where I got my outfit. This is an upward trend in the life of Michelle. I take great joy in telling people my clothes aren’t actually mine. If you don’t love shopping, or maybe you love it a little too much, or you’re looking for a small but impactful way to elevate your style while being a bit more mindful, try Nuuly. It’s a clothing rental subscription that has saved me thousands in just four months. Use my code and see for yourself.
Rooster (HBO) - This show is so cozy and makes my heart happy. Set on a college campus, it’s giving Nancy Meyers meets Gilmore Girls. Steve Carell’s relationship with his daughter is incredibly sweet, and honestly, what could be better than feel-good giggles centered around books and writing? Ryan and I are both all in. This one is a simple joy.
First Aid Beauty Ultra Repair Cream (Amazon) - If I’m being honest, I’m probably not the person you should be taking beauty advice from. I barely wash my face and regularly steal products from my daughter. That said, this cream is part of Mia’s lineup, and I keep going back to it. It’s rich, scent-free, and does the job.
Louis Theroux on Internet Culture and the Manosphere (The Romesh Ranganathan Show)- Ryan and I snuggled up for what might be the least cozy documentary experience of all time: Inside the Manosphere. It dives into the toxic influence culture that is, quite frankly, horrifying. Barf. But then I took a walk and listened to Louis Theroux talk about making it, and he is both brilliant and unexpectedly funny. That part? Strangely enjoyable.
Mack’s Earplugs (Amazon) - Apparently, these will be in Mia’s ears every night while we travel because there are simply too many disruptions. Back when I was a kid…
Huntington Learning Center (Largrange, IL)- I’ve said it since day one of becoming a parent: it takes a village. Huntington has been part of ours since COVID, when my kids were stuck learning behind screens. Newsflash, that didn’t work. We’re rounding the bend now and finishing strong with their help as the kids prepare for the most uncozy test of all, the ACT. If you’re in or around the La Grange area and have a 10th–12th grader who could use a boost, give them a call. Fill out this form to inquire more about Huntington Learning Center. Use our code TSPACT5 for 5% OFF.
Stay cozy,
Michelle
