New episodes drop every Thursday

With the change of seasons, comes the change of cocktails.

Recently on Live @ 5, I was joined by our hygge mixologist, Michael Cecconi of SIP BAR at @themobilemixologist. Michael is what Michelle and I like to refer to as one of our "weird internet friends" and/or "strangers we think you should now". Making friends on social media apps is truly a sign of the times.

As we prepared for this segment's collaboration, I was pushing for something with an autumnal twist to it. Not much persuasion was needed, as Michael responded to my email with a - buckle up. When someone says buckle up to me, the expectations immediately skyrocket. Knowing how innovative and creative our mixologist is, I knew I was in for a treat.

And now...so are you, so buckle the heck up!

This cocktail, named after cannons of WWI, is going to blow your wool socks right off your feet. The Apple 125 is created with Apple Brandy, infused with homemade cinnamon simple syrup, has equal parts sweet, and equal parts sour. Top it off with prosecco or champagne and I'm certain this will be one of the most delightful fall cocktails to have ever been sipped by your lips. Drink it next to the bonfire or as a pre-dinner cocktail to really get the festive vibes flowing!

PS. Pinterest this recipe for Thanksgiving!

  2. In the meantime, be sure to have your Prosecco or champagne chilling.

  3. Create your cocktail! Pour brandy, lemon, and cinnamon simple syrup into your shaker.

  4. Add ice almost to the top of your shaker, cover, and shake.

  5. From the shaker, pour your ingredients into your glass of choice.

  6. Carefully open your bottle of prosecco/champagne.

  7. Top your cocktail with a vigorous pour of prosecco/champagne.

  8. Place a cinnamon stick in your cocktail to and ENJOY! Happy Fall!
