NEW EPISODE DROPS EVERY THURSDAY

The Lion Women of Tehran by Marjan Kamali

This book has been high on my to-read list, and I’ll admit - somewhat embarrassingly - that I don’t know nearly enough about Iran or its history. This novel tells the story of a lifelong friendship between two girls (whom I absolutely adore and reminds me of when I first met my best friend in fourth grade and the fun we had) growing up in Tehran, set against political upheaval, womanhood, and resilience. Equal parts beautiful and eye-opening, and a gentle reminder that there is always more to learn.

BRĒZ Social Tonic

I was introduced to this delicious tonic on New Year’s Eve, and let’s just say - it’s exactly what my 2026 needed. I love a refreshing, herb-infused beverage that delivers good vibes, relaxation, and zero hangovers (a truly elite combination). If you’re curious about a hemp-derived THC drink, I highly recommend BRĒZ. They also make a nighttime version that Anthony really enjoys.

Radical Acceptance - Embracing Your Life with the Heart of a Buddhaby Tara Brach

I’ve seen a lot of talk about this book, and I have to say - now more than ever, I’m craving a deeper dive into Buddhist teachings. I am very much in need of grounding, mindfulness, and a bit of mental rewiring to help me navigate these times without fully losing my grip on reality. These nuggets of wisdom are beyond helpful - steadying, reassuring, and gently reminding me to unclench my jaw.

Band of Brothers

I have no idea how we ended up starting Band of Brothers, but oh my goodness am I glad we did. This remarkable series follows Easy Company, a group of paratroopers in the 101st Airborne Division, from D-Day through the end of World War II. It’s heavy, powerful, and deeply moving—one of those shows that makes you sit a little quieter afterwards for a few moments. Heroes. Truly.

West End Vision

Michelle and I recently swung by our favorite optometrist for new frames - because what feels better than shopping for new specs? Honestly, not much. Frame shopping is especially fun when you’re with West End Vision’s frame expert and stylist, Sam. She’s a total wealth of knowledge when it comes to finding the perfect frame for your face with excellent taste. If you’re in the market for super stylish, fun frames, head to West End Vision in La Grange and tell Sam that The Sister Project sent you. Trust us - your face and eyes will thank you.

Sentimental Value

This film explores the complicated relationship between a father and his daughters as they navigate life, success, and grief following the death of his wife and their mother. When Gustav, a once-renowned film director, asks his daughter Nora to star in his new project, things get… complicated - especially after an American actress is cast in the role Nora declined. Starring Renate Reinsve, Elle Fanning, and Stellan Skarsgård, this is a slow, quiet, beautifully uncomfortable film about family dynamics, egos, and the emotional messiness we all pretend we don’t have.

Stay cozy,

Lauren
